Becoming a reflective teacher.

Luciana Moura is a nice person and gave us an interesting workshop. She made us to think about our practice. Show us that we have always to be a reflective teacher. She made us a question: How do you see yourself as an english teacher?

I try to develop a good work. I like to teach and I hope my students have more opportunities in your lives.

In this day too we watched a brilliant film called " Empero's Club" that speaks about a good teacher. He faces many troubles, but he is a "strong" man and get to resolve all problems with intelligence and patience. Who is William Hundert?

"William Hundert, a retired "old-school" classics teacher is passionate about his subject. Moreover, he strongly believes in moulding his students by using principles. However, his methods are put to the test by a new student, Sedgewick Bell who shakes Hundert's controlled world and threatens to undermine all that he stands for. Hundert's challenge is to change this young man while maintaining his integrity. Lessons abound for the students and teacher culminating in a reunion 25 years later. "

Thank you so much!!! I learned that we must have hope !!!!! NEVER GIVE UP!!!!!!!

How I teach listening?

Alessandra Maria gave us the third workshop. In my group, we discuss about Teaching Listening.
"Why is listening important? Helping students to improve their listening to spoken English is a vital part of the teacher's job. The better students understand what they hear, the better they will take part in spoken interactions. Listening is also important skill in its own rigth. But listening is also important because, as they listen, students will be absorbing the language they hear, the rhythms, the intonation, the word order and grammatical patterns. providing them with listening material on tape and video will help their acquisition of the language in many ways."
by Jeremy Harmer
I think to teach listening you have to follow some stages, such as:
1) set situation;
2) give some specific vocabularies;
3) give some exercises to be done.
To teach listening you also have to use some tools, such as:
1) extracts:
  • news;
  • musics;
  • films;
  • pictures in order to set situation;
  • interviews;

2) different kinds of exercise:

  • complete gaps;
  • multiple- choice;
  • reply questions;
  • complete tables and so on. Sucess for you!!!!!!!!!

Oral, Writing and pronunciation development.

Leila's Workshop was great. She was a dynamic teacher. She reviewed the phonetic sound and we practiced through activities in group. It was an excellent exercise because we could learn sound and symbol. We could hear a narrative of " The hare and the Tortoise". This story transmit us a message " never give up". We did an activity about this story and then showed to class. It was fantastic. At last, we played of Mr. Crocodile. We need to ask permission to Mr. Crocodile to across the river. And Mr. Crocodile said, Yes, bu with condition... if we were wearing... I love very much this exercise. We could review vocabulary and begin classes fascinating. I worked in my classes. My students were very happy!!
